standards & bantams in same flock okay?

I have leghorn pullets with my bantams. They were raised with some of the flock, others have been integrated in.

No problems here!

My banties run the show anyway

Your best bet would be to buy the eggs when you have a broody hen and let her hatch and raise them. That way they will be part of the flock. If you have to add them to the flock as live birds it cn be brutal/deadly.

Ahhh...very good idea. All my layers got killed by the neighbors dog, so I had to start fresh...pullets I have now are 8-10 weeks old. When do pullets go broody...how long after they start to lay?

I have had some that went broody on their first egg

And some not til about a yr old. I think its just to each his own.
Be patiend and enjoy the ones you have now. Use the time as the grow to find
a good source to get the eggs you want so you will be prepared when the time comes.
Then you will have something to look forward to

If you get them all at once, you will go crazy when everyone is hatching in the spring LOL.
