Standing on one leg?

I have a 17 week old Silver Wyandotte that is standing on one leg, but mostly sitting. I've kept her inside over the last 24 hours with no improvement. I can't see anything wrong with the foot or leg. I squeezed all the way from the foot to the thigh and she pulled back when I went to the joint but maybe she was just tired of me.

How long do I keep her inside?
When do I take her to the vet - if ever?
Can she live like this?

, If she is eating well and don't have any signs of illness, I think she will be ok, I will keep any eye of her stool and if everything looks good let her back with her friends.

With any kind of injury, you should feel some heat...if you can, feel both legs at the same time, starting up at the top and working your way down, and try to determine if the one she is favoring has any more heat than the other one
(you didn't feel any inflamation?) I would just touch, and not squeeze, and do both legs to see if she reacts the same on both legs. But just for something to think about I have noticed chickens like to stand on one leg often. (but the sitting would maybe be a concern) Does she look lame when she walks?

If she stands, she never puts down that other foot. I put her outside with the two pullets she grew up with, and she would only hop and that was infrequent. She's been inside sitting in a box for 3 days now with no improvement. Just today I saw her try to peck at the hurt foot. Mostly, she just sits.

Her poo is mostly runny but I've been giving her oats and yogurt along with her usual feed.

I felt her good leg and bad leg and aside from them feeling different at the joint because one was bent and the other wasn't - I don't see anything, or feel any heat.

Hey - you don't think she's faking to get inside where it's warm, do you!? I should notice if she holds up the same foot every time.

Seriously, if you have any other ideas - next steps - or even how long this could take - let me know. Her name is Jezzy Belle and we love her dearly. She is the tamest, sweetest pullet I've ever known.

You definitely need to figure out if it is the same leg she holds up all the time.
maybe she just likes the attention! But I am not sure if chickens are smart enough to fake an injury...horses and dogs maybe, but chickens??
I would check the joint carefully, and look at them both in the same state...look at them both bent and then straight.

any updates? I also have a chicken doing this, but her other foot (the one she holds up) is curled up a bit, so I'm wondering if it's a vitamin issue. She hops around too... very strange!

No change. It's been 4 days. Shouldn't I see some improvement?

I examined her again today. No obvious signs of injury or infection.
