Okay, i clean my coop and run three times a week. The coop is lined with pine straw and the run is dirt.

It has rained for two days and promptly hit 90 degrees again. The run STINKS. Like dead unicorns and the tears of lonely children. It is FUNKY.

The coop itself is tolerable because it didnt get as wet (plus pine straw is pretty fragrant).

Are there any safe deodorizers i can use until it dries? Peppermint worked a little until the chickens decided it was delicious.

Have you tried sweet PDZ? It's worked for me but I just have 4 chickens.

Agreed! After a rain a couple of days ago our run smelled like a pro football team running through the Amazon in leather pants. I raked some PDZ in and it smelled better in a short time.
Bout drenched my keyboard with a mouthful of soda at that one BRAHAHAHA

Our local farm stores carry bags of sawdust and I use it to soak up the mud. It kinda helps

Quote: Pelletized Lime can help with odors and adding sand will improve drainage and help prevent mud in the future.
Adding organic material will just make it hold moisture longer
