Star gazing

I have an adult bird that just started star gazing. He looks straight up, especially when stressed and starts flipping onto his back and flopping around. It started about a week ago. I don't know what triggered it. I've tried adding vitamins to the water. It doesn't seem to be improving at all. Working on finding him a quiet place to separate him. I need info on what causes this in an adult and treatments and prognosis. Will he always do this and can it be passed on to offspring. He still eats and drinks.

Stargazing is caused by a lack of thiamine. Provide Avian Super Pack; dosage is 1/4 teaspoon per gallon of water for 5 days. Make it fresh daily and dont add anything else to the mixture. You might have to use an eyedropperful to administer.
