Hi, I purchased 4 chicks from tractor supply about 5 weeks ago. 1 starlight green egger, 2 sapphire gems, and 1 barred rock. When I purchased them the signs said they were pullets. I’m now concerned that my starlight green egger and 1 of my sapphire gems are cockerels. I have seen pictures of starlight green egger hens with large combs and waddles so I still have hope that it’s a pullet but please let me know what you think because im really not sure. The white one is the starlight green egger, the 2 grey ones are the sapphire gems and the black one is the barred rock. Thanks!

sapphire gems are sex linked. The females are solid, and males are barred. I think you are correct, you might have 2 boys. but, someone with better knowledge will come along and give you a more experienced guess. That was just my 2c

good luck!

also, your brooder is a bit small for them, they look a little crammed. I would try getting them a bigger one soon. They can even start going outside soon if you have good weather.

Yeah! I have someone building my coop. It’s supposed to be done this week. We can’t free range because technically live within city limits

i’ve gotten cockerels from pullet bins at TS. good news is w proof, they’ll give you new birds. bad news is you’ll need to regime them yourself. 🤦🏻‍♀️
