I purchased this chick as a starlight green egger. She/he is the only one that looks like this. The other are more red toned. This chick is so beautiful and I was wondering if this was more of an EE rather than green egger.

The chick colors are non-standard. Here are two that I received directly from Hoover's last week.

Did the light colored one on the left end up a roo? I just got a beautiful blonde little SGE chick from rural king that looks just like yours. From the very vague info I found online said they are autosexing- light colored ones usually being roos.... wondering how true that is???

Hi there!

No, the lighter one is indeed female with white body and golden head. The darker one turned out red. :) Both are female. They do lay slightly different tints -- the lighter one lays almost olive colored eggs, the red hen lays more of a mint color.

Ahhhhhhh! Yessss!!! Love that coloring so much!

I would have disappointed to hear that the lighter one was a roo- our lil blonde chickie is such a sweetie pie in comparison to our other flighty chicks. Thank you so much for your reply!! ❤️

They are pretty cool, and have their little clique, just the two of them. They roost at night together on a chicken swing, it's really cute!

Do you have grown up pics with eggs? I have three of the light ones, one looks just like your blonde baby! And one more red one, the internet thinks might even be RIR, so I'm curious how these chicks feather out. I'm surprised too, you have both mint and olive from the same batch; how interesting!

This is the red hen. She literally JUST laid her first egg on this pic, which is why she has that LOOK in her eyes, hahah.

This is the lighter chick, who is an AMAZING mom. I'll get egg pics in the morning.

Oh wow! They are both gorgeous! I hope my light ones grow out like her. I'm still not convinced my red one is either a SGE ...or a stray RIR 😬 The egg will say it all!
