I am having a problem with starlings in my chicken coop and eating the eggs. We have secured the entrance allowing only a 9" space to let the chickens come and go, but they're still getting in that small area.

Would a fake owl on a fence post discourage the starlings from getting in?

I appreciate any suggestions you may have.

no way. Other birds are eating your eggs??? Crapola. I'm going to have to think on that as we have tons of wild birds nesting in our barn "coop".

YES starlings DO eat eggs...seen that from time to time again and again in my coop. I even witness one eating one. Smart little buggers.

Solved the problem by using the fruit tree netting. They get hung up in it, I would dispose of them. After a while, they quit coming.
