I recently got 7 eggs, and put them in the bator that same day they were laid.
No shipping, just a 10 minute car ride.

Should I have waited?
These are eggs from some humongous black australorps(seriously, like turkeys), and Imma be disappointed in myself if I screwed it up and they dont hatch.

I been reading that folks say to wait a day or 2, but thats for shipped eggs, right?

I agree with Chicky Tocks. The sooner the better! When I set my eggs last Friday, I got some of my eggs from that day's lay. One egg I got had just been laid because it was still warm. If any of them hatch it should be that one.

Good luck with your hatch!

Cool, Thankyou so much!

I shoulda took a picture of the parents of these eggs, they were bigger than Jersey Giants!

The guy said they were "show-quality" birds, and that my other hatchery birds wouldnt get nearly as big.
I really want to see if theres a difference . . .

Seriously, these things were ginormous, easily 2x as big as any chicken I ever seen.
And the guy had babies running around, so I know they are fertile.

Man, I hate waiting.
I have 2 weeks off now, in that time I should get to see the other 2 "mutt" clutches hatch, then these guys the following weekend.
