(1) Are you new to chickens / when did you first get chickens?
Yes. We bought our first chicks 2 weeks ago. We were supposed to get them last year but had to delay until we had things on the home front in order. Have been reading and researching for a long while.

(2) How many chickens do you have right now?

Unfortunately, tragedy struck this afternoon and we are down to 3 chicks. :( Not going to let it get us down though.

(3) What breeds do you have?
Silver Amereucana, Silver Laced Wyandotte, Rhode Island Red.

(4) How did you find out about BackYardChickens.com?
Been reading the forums for at least a couple years now. Just never got around to making an account until today.

(5) What are some of your other hobbies?

(6) Tell us about your family, your other pets, your occupation, or anything else you'd like to share.
We have 5 kids, 2 dogs, and a cat. We have 1 acre of land right now and are starting a 6000 sq ft garden/orchard. The chickens have a sweet little run in the middle of the orchard at the moment with room to add an adacent coop when the flock gets bigger.

The running joke among our friends is that our 4 boys have inherited their father's tapeworm. :D No one really has a tapeworm but they sure do eat lot.

We are all looking forward to learning and growing our flock and garden.

G’Day from down under Wagnit.. :frow Welcome and Congratulations! :clap

BYC has Topic of the Week discussions which I have found to be a great resource, informative and sometimes entertaining; so definitely worth checking out.

If you would like to share Pictures and Stories of your flock or other critters, you have come to the right place. BYC’ers never tire of these and do not back away slowly or commence eye rolling when the photo album or home videos come out ;)
