I was surprised to see the OP had the pink 2X4's. It has been a long time since I have seen them in my area. The pink boards years ago used to cost about ten cents more per board than non painted. The last time I built a shed I used the pink tinted boards and they were a higher grade than standard. Straighter and were knot free. That was about twelve years ago though!!
House contractors now just use standard studs to keep costs down to increase profit. Maybe somebody here with construction experience could help us with more info.
