I finished my coop today and moved my chicks in. The current set up they can see each other but can’t touch. In a few weeks I plan to make openings in the partition and add hiding places in the run.

For now the chicks stare at the chickens and the chickens postures ever so often.

Is the chick brooder roof water proof?

What's the Aframe?
The roof isn’t waterproof yet. We’re thinking of putting a plastic panel on top on a slope.

the a-frame is the roost and nest box for the hens.

When I added the new coop I inadvertently increased the run area for the hens by adding a crawl space underneath. An added bonus since now I don’t have to worry about shade.
