started laying again???

What's up with my chickens. Back in September of 2017 my chickens stopped laying. Not one egg in 4 1/2 months. Now all of a sudden in the last week, one or more of the chickens has started laying an egg a day.

We're in the middle of our winter. We had a nice warm fall and they waited till the days got short and nasty to start laying again?????

Yup they really wanted to fly south for vacation but chose a Staycation like all of our flocks, my girls included! thank goodness for my two pullets who just started laying!! woohooo

They took a break, and now that day length is increasing several minutes daily they have resumed laying. Normal chicken reproductive behavior. Gradually the entire flock will restart laying.

If you're actually in NC it's pretty close to spring now so the start up is very expected. I'm a state below and my girls are back in business, except for one that molted fashionably late.
