Started on my Coop today that is going to be on a 6' x 10' trailer

Got some more work done on coop. Got the ventilation cut and hardware cloth to cover. In addition, got the doors for internal nesting boxes cut with hinges. Started to paint. Going to keep working around the weather and extreme heat.

Got more work on my coop. Painted, inside has been sealed along with ventilation windows covered with hard ware, nesting boxes in the works. Painted doors for egg collection, cut purlin close to length before hopefully working on the roof this weekend if weather permits. Have bamboo for roosting perch. Hens are curious and investigating their new house

So the roof here is not screwed down yet?
Because that low end need to be overhung.

Might be too slippery. Hope it's very large diameter.
Correct the roof is not secured. Plan on building awnings for sun and rain protection that can be opened and closed over ventilation windows. Also, have oak limbs that won't be slippery and are thinner in diameter. The bamboo I have goes from thick to thinner. Low end will be overhung once secured. Starting to sprinkle so put it up there so I could tarp to protect inside contents.

Attached handles and latches on doors including rear clean out door, access door, and egg collection doors. Doors to open for egg collection latches were attached on outside for two doors and inside for single door that can be opened once two doors are opened.

What kind of awnings were you thinking of? I need some type for the windows on the new duck house.
Going to see what the thinnest sheet of wood is and put sealant over it. Will try to use the same wood that was used for access door on my old coop for the awnings. Therefore, it will be lightweight while protecting from sun and rain. Additionally, will use metal from old coop roof on top. This will be attached with hinges and build bars that are similar to the ones used on a folding hurricane shutter panel. Using hinges and bars will allow me to set at correct distance and closed if needed. Going to finish the roof and go down my list. Continuing to post updates until finished.

Got some additional work on coop today before a tremendous rain and thunder storms for 1-2 hours. Got the roof panels mounted, mounted bamboo and oak perches, fan, more work on nesting boxes. Here are pictures minus roof as had to immediately tarp due to rain. Will continue building, awnings and anti roost over nesting boxes, along with more work on roof in the future. Focused on ventilation building this coop.

Decided to cut the clean out door in half due to weight dragging on floor. Installed a 2x4 behind with internal latch. Going to install handles and another latch on out side. Installed 2 awnings after cutting and sealing them with Thompson's water seal. Installed netting on to removable nesting box dividers to prevent roosting. More awnings and going over everything before letting them enjoy the airflow and new coop.

Had a chance to demo old coop and work on new one yesterday before putting it under tree for shade. New coop almost finished. More awnings and couple things but they enjoy it.
