Dug out the ground (which was not easy, as we have lots of ledge where I live), got the floor wired and down and covered back up with soil. Today the coop and run will start and I hope to get alot done this weekend (it is my Mother's Day present! lol) My babies are now closing in on 6 weeks, so we have to get this done (lucky I am married to a carpenter so he can get this done pretty quickly.) I will take pics. Excited!!

How big is your coop going to be and how many chickadees do you have? Designing your coop is always fun, but it's super exciting when you finally see it coming together!! Eagerly awaiting pics......

The coop is 8x6x6, the run is 8x14 and it is inside my 10x30x6 heavy duty dog kennel for extra protection. Back outside...I have 8 regular and 2 bantams.

That is where the most work is involved (at least here, our yard is so unlevel, and very ledge and rock filled, so lots of back breaking work.) Course, clouds moving in...ggggrrrrrr, we will keep going for as long as we can. Just taking a 2 sec break...(needed something to drink..lol) Good luck today!

So far, it has spit a little but rain holding off, so we are still out there. Getting walls up now.

Kept starting and stopping because of rain, we finally called it a day. Not as far as I had hoped we would be, but tomorrow is another day. Got the frame, the floor of the coop and part of the walls before it really started to come down. Starting to actually look like something...lol

Any pics yet?
