Starter feed questions

I have some Nutrena NatureWise non-medicated chick starter grower food for my chicks and am wondering if it can also be fed to my geese or if I would need to continue feeding them the all poultry chick feed? Geese and chicks are both 6 weeks old if that matters.

I usually start my geese on an all flock starter like Purina Flock raiser, than switch to an all flock maintenance. I have raised ducks on a chick starter but have seen some leg problems in the males the last 2 times. Not sure if it was from the feed choice or genetics.

I'm not sure about the ingredients, but I think one of the main things is that you wouldn't feed medicated chick feed to water fowl.

I have used chick starter when I have ducklings and when I have had goslings just be sure to supplement their feed with a niacin supplement I use Nutritional yeast 1 Tablespoon to each cup of feed you serve. Mine are all adults and my mix flock still gets Nutritional yeast every other day in their feed it’s so good for them. use the NY for at least 10-12 weeks.
