Starter/Grower crumble to large for my chicks to eat

I just bought a bag of starter/grower for my red sex link chicks and they will not eat it. the crumbles are larger in this bag than they were in the first one that bought. what can i do to make them eat it?

How about pouring into another container and sifting out the fines. Feed them those and mix in some of the larger particles. They grow so fast, it shouldn't be long before they're able to eat all.

run it through grinder a few cups at a time, a spice grinder should work

Thank you, I don't have a spice grinder but I do have a a food processor that should do the job too.

Try adding water and making it the consistency of oatmeal. My chicks love it wet!

That's probably the best method. Then the fines get bound up in the gruel. I ferment the feed for chicks and adults alike. There's very little waste.
By the way, the fines is where most of the vitamins and minerals are since they're added in powder form.

Than you all so much the info is awesome I'm going to try wetting the food a little bit and see if they like that better
