I need some tips , tricks or advice please ! I have 6 chicks that are a week old . They’re eating organic crumble just fine. I want them to eat fermented feed due to the health benefits but they absolutely won’t touch it . Any ideas on How to get them to eat it . I have tried fermenting their crumbles but they won’t touch it. I leave out the dry crumbles because this way they have something to eat.

you have to act like a broody hen and show them that X is food. You do it by tapping your finger in the food you want them to eat until the bravest of them tries it. Others will follow. It may take repeated attempts on your part. Little and often works best.

Try offering a little plain natural yogurt. Or grated cheese. Or mashed tinned sardines. Or mashed potato (mashed with a little butter and milk). As long as you haven't sprayed it with pesticide or herbicide, get a turf from your yard and put it in the brooder for them to explore and sample. It will contain tiny grit that they will also consume, along with some soil, and that will prime their immune systems for when they go outside, as well as provide some healthy natural foods.
