Hi everybody!

Just wanted to say hello and look forward to learning from all of you. I have three RIRs and am looking to get Americauna, buff Orpington, Australorp, Andalusian Blue, white leghorn, silkies, Toulouse Goose and Pekin Duck. Thanks
Andrew

welcome I would just like to say it would be a good idea to keep the ducks and geese separate from the chicken they may not get alone too well

Welcome to BYC! Glad you decided to join our flock. You have a very nice mixed flock. Black Australorps are my favorite standard breed; very hardy, calm and gentle, and excellent layers. X2 on fleedo's suggestion to keep the ducks and geese separate from the chickens. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have. We are here to help in any way we can. Good luck with your flock.

Sounds like you have a lovely flock!

Enjoy this great adventure you are on and welcome to our flock!

Thanks to everyone for being so welcoming and the helpful advice about separating the ducks and chickens; what type of coop is suitable for ducks/geese? It's a work in progress and I look forward to keeping you all posted. Btw are any of you in rockland county, NY?

You'll get some good ideas on Duck housing in the Ducks section. For people from your neck of the woods, have a look in the Where am I? Where are you! forum section. Enjoy the site!

If you go to "where am I, where are you," in the social forum you can locate and post on your state thread. It's the best way to find people near you, or get their recommendation on breeds that do well in your area, best feed stores, how to deal with climate issues, etc.
