We moved from WA state to So Cal in 1983 and have been in the Corona area since 1984. We've lived in this home for 20 yrs and have enjoyed having an acre with most of that in the back (small front yard). I've loved the mature citrus and walnut trees and all the birds, esp all the hummers! Got chickens and turkeys 5 yrs ago and gained a whole new perspective on life and a new obsession.
We have decided to move out of Calif and picked southern Idaho for our new venture/farm. We have sold our rental and hope to close that next week. We have two properties in the Parma/Fruitland area in escrow. We bought a 32.5 acre with home first and then, as providence would have it, a home at the corner of that property came up for sale. We bought that one too for a total of 35 acres and two homes.
So many ideas with all this land. I need to think about what chickens and turkeys to get, once we have facilities for them built. My hubby has no idea what "chicken math" is, lol. Hubby is an AKC Springer field trial judge and manufactures dog trailers (and owns a lab). We now have enough land to train dogs on and can even build a pond. We might renovate the manuf home on the 32 acre parcel and turn that into a B&B type place to rent out. I might get a few alpacas. Oh somebody stop me!!
Looking forward to learning more about Idaho and hearing from any of you out there who live in the Treasure Valley area.
And if anyone in So Cal - Orange County, Riverside/San Bernardino, L.A. county is looking for a place to keep chickens, my property will be for sale in about a month. It's in the county, NOT the city. Riverside County. 10x10 walk in coop, attached covered 12x8 pen and a huge covered flight pen (60x20?). Lots of room for a huge barn and garden area, etc. Neighbors are all laid back, do your own thing folks.
Idaho take me away!!
