Starting about 18 BCM eggs tonight. March 24th /25th hatch

Rustywoman, is that a nice little marans egg i see. I see your in Idaho do you mind if i ask what part south ,centeral or pan handle. I my self am in south east Wa.

Ray2310 do you want to take some bets against the 1588 and the broody? lol It would be nice if we all had hens that would go broody on demand wouldent it.

Finally got a some pictures of my eggs and my chickens (although they're a bit wet in the photos). Somehow I managed to squeeze 26 eggs into my incubator that's supposed to hold 24. It's because I have those little pullet eggs in there.

I set some last night and some today. I have some beautiful eggs in there. Jersey Giants/Rhode Island Reds/Lavendar Ameracaunas/Wheaten Ameracaunas/EE/OE/OEGB/Welsummers/and mixes. I'm so excited and can't wait for them to hatch. My lavendar Ameracaunas are pretty small, I don't know if they'll hatch, but here's to hoping!

Today is day one of my hatch for AL , rir's , bbs orps and 5 silkies. Plus some crosses just for measure. No sense running a not full incu imo.

Hope they all hatch.

Hi everyone and hey to you Rancher Hicks. Of COURSE you cannot run a not full incubator, it is against all hatching rules

John, I am in the Boise area and yes there is a Marans egg in there. I can't figure out which of those ladies is laying it (she is in the main hen coop) I need to put the spy cam in there so I can weed her out and put her with the others. But she lays early and I haven't caught her in the act yet, and that is why it is in the eating egg/to be cleaned bowl.

I had another Mottled Java and Black Copper Marans hatch out this morning. One of my White Ameraucanas is stuck and I really don't want to have to help it out. I think I didn't get the humidity high enough for it during incubation. They are the only ones that I find (for me in my area) that need more humidity. I like to dry incubate but it doesn't work well for them.

Got mine in the mail today... will let them sit overnight to settle and pop them in tomorrow for a March 25 hopeful hatch. I didn't have a successful hatch last time with shipped eggs, so I'm hoping this will be better (in reality, it was my first incubation EVER, so the problem was likely not just a shipped eggs issue). Have an assortment... I'm still trying out different breeds to see what I like and maybe experience one I hadn't previously considered.

My hatch does have 4 Pumpkin Hulsey Gamefowl eggs... I got one in the previous assortment I hatched and really fell in love with it, but it got killed by a raccoon as a juvenile (he would throw himself into my arms whenever I stepped into the coop). I mentioned that when I placed the order this time that I really liked that guy, and would never have considered trying out that breed on my own. I noticed on the side of the box it said "12 mix + PH." So I have 12 assorted, plus four PH (setting 16 total). So I'm pretty sure it was deliberate, and totally awesome.

OK I am jealous. I think the Pumpkin Hulsey are beautiful. I had heard they fight alot with the other birds. Did yours? Now you have me wanting them...!

I don't mess with Game birds. They are great looking birds but i don't want to take the chance. I had a game chick given to me as a kid and raised it as a pet. But one day he went off the deep end and killed grandma's Barred rock roo and started on another , plucked a eye out of one of the other roosters. That is the last game fowl i have ever owned. I got to much money invested into my marans and silkies to take that risk..
