I raise chicks through the winter here in mn. They need a heat lamp longer of course but they are kept in a brooder in my uninsulated barn. Once feathered they can handle the cold really well. I am hatching now to have pullets ready for the spring market and will continue to hatch until November or later possibly. I do only raise large fowl.
