Starting from "scratch" in Rainier, OR!

Welcome!! Of my four birds, my Plymouth Barred Rock is the most consistent layer of light brown eggs. She has a pretty fun personality as well. But I agree with others that having a variety is great. Have fun and make sure you let us see pictures of your coop progress

hi all i'm new to this chicken thing just started building my coop today after the long ride to home depot as we do not have one here in this part of rural az. am lookin forward to learning as much as i can about this.

Hey Rainier.... Woodburn here!!! nice ta meet ya.. I have BC marans and some fouled wheaten/bc mutt stock.. LOL... it is a jeanne pool... ha ha.. Actually I have a pen of showstock and a pen of genetic material. I am on the marans thread and have access to BLRW, Penedesenca though not pure stock, Blue Cochin not show quality but nice. a couple of token leghorn and a 12 year old barred hen.... If you can get an egg out of her... It will probably be half dinosaur!!! LOL
