Just starting 30 guinea eggs in the incubator. Do the eggs have to be turned every day in the first week? We are going out of town and not sure if our animal caretakers will be able to turn them every day. If not they won't get turned for 4 days. Is this too long to go at this early stage?

If you check in the Incubating & Hatching Eggs forum there is lots of information on this. Late in the incubation turning the eggs is not critical but early it is really important to turn them and the studies show that the more frequently the eggs are turned, the better it is for them. They should be turned a minimum of 3 times daily. My old model incubator turns the eggs every three hours and the new similar model turns them every hour.

Without having an auto turner, you shouldn't start incubating eggs if you aren't going to be there to turn them regularly.
