I needed to put hardware cloth in the small gaps between the roof and walls.

After fighting with it on the north wall, i decided the extra 2.5% ventilation was not worth the effort. So i just cut up pieces of scrap wood and screwed them in place.

Still need to build a door and close up the gaps on the east wall. The various excess lengths of board sticking out will eventually get sawed off. Looks a little janky overall, but i am sure my hens won't mind.

Finally finished this thing today! The girls are spending their first night in it now.

Something killed my favorite rooster not too long ago (maybe a bobcat). So i built a small but secure run for the girls, since whatever got my roo did so about 9 or 10 am, meaning they were not safe in their chicken playpen.

Will be adding some perches and putting a tarp over their little roof to keep rain out.
