Welcome!

Try wearing a headlamp when you go into the coop at night to place the little ones on the roost, then they can’t necessarily see as well.
I have a headlamp that has a red light. When I go into the coop at night with the red light on, the chickens know I'm there, but don't seem to be able to see well enough to worry about what I'm doing. I can handle them as needed, and they aren't "lap" chickens.
