I used to raise chickens 20 years ago and have started up again with 8 RI reds. Nice new coop and all.
I bought them at 14 weeks and I'm waiting for the first eggs. I plan on getting a rooster at the county fair this week.
I have a question on DE if I use it in the coop and then dump it in the compost does it kill the worms? What would be the best way to use the DE to keep the moisure, flies and smell down with out killing the worms?
