Starting over- Buckeyes, Swedish Flower, Speckled Sussex, Chocolate Orp,

Hey! Thanks so much for following up! Phase 1 is halfway done. We just finished culling the last batch of 19 yesterday. Unfortunately, some were already showing signs of the disease flaring up again....and egg production dropped. Most days I had 5-7 that weren't laying. Normally I would have waited another month or 2, but we usually get rainy or bad weather in fall. I didn't want to handle the weather and/or the chickens getting worse as well as culling all at once. Never failed though, anytime we'd get days of rain, they'd get a flare up which would take weeks to "recover".

Hopefully the next weekend or two I can clean/disinfect, etc. I plan to pretty much gut the inside of the coop. Nest boxes, roost or anything wood will get burned, anything else will get deep cleaned and disinfected.

I appreciate the info! I'm not sure about the ornamental birds..what would those be? Like polish, silkies, or rare breeds like the lavender or blue Orpington? Or I have seen some fancy ones like the breed with the really long tail. I'm not too interested in Silkies ( my area and market is flooded with them). Have had them before. Yeah, lol roos can be turds. Just depends.

Breeds I've had are: Lavender Orpington, Chocolate Orpington, Buff Orpington, RIR, Bard Rock, Speckled Sussex, Light Brahma, Swedish Flower Hen, Amberlink, Black Jersey Giant, production Red, Golden Comet, Cinnamon Queen, Welsummer, BYM, Banty Mixes, Silke, Silke mixes.

This was my 7th year having chickens. So I'm sure I had some Americanas and other popular breeds at farm stores, can't remember them now. When we first started, we would get a friends overstock, so no telling what those breeds were.
