Starting Over

Hello! I have been reading articles on this site for the past year and just now am getting my own account. I had three lovely ladies (Hazel, Eleanor, and Francis) for over a year who were sadly killed (by a racoon I'm thinking) a few weeks ago. I am in the process of upgrading my coop, adding security features, and getting some new pullets! It's amazing how much we grew attached to them and miss them dearly, and not just the eggs!

Welcome to Backyard Chickens. So very sorry for your loss. You may want to check out the predator threads for more advice and suggestions aimed at keeping predators away from your flock. Sadly everything loves (to eat) chickens.

I have been looking into it but haven't got too far on the research end. I like the idea as long but maybe just at night. Need to read more about it.
