Starting over

After losing 12 beautiful Americana adults and 8 new chicks to Marek's 5 years ago I'm carefully starting over. 2 of the new chicks were purchased from a recommended backyard breeder and were infected.. "breeder" left town shortly after outbreak that affected multiple chicken raisers. I set up brand new coop and run far from where original coop was and am hoping for the best

I would think that after 5 long years the virus will be gone from your property. The virus is not supposed to survive outside the body for more than one year.
