Starting to fly

When out to put malard duck away and over the fence he went. He got just a little over treetops, and around the yard, and landed about 20 feet from the fence. It was like LOOK WHAT I CAN DO. Cool or what?? It is a new coop and run for them that we got done and just put them in there. My question is will they go into coop like chickens at night fall. Or do they have to be put in???

My ducks do not and have never had a choice. Its a case of get your butt in there or I will put it in there for you.

Once they learn where to go into of a night they will soon get the hang of it.
