Starting to free range

Snowing now...:(
Oh your all set for your girls! I have two unheated, uninsualated coops... I run a heat lamp sometimes. They do very well. They eat a lot to keep warm. My only battle is freezing water... I'm working on that one, going to try a store bought heated base this year. I'm near Prince George just outside of Burns Lake, where are you?

We are about 20km outside of Kamloops. It snowed off and on Sunday but nothing stuck.

Hoping watering isn't going to be a problem. We have a tap in the coop with running water and our automatic waterer is hooked up to it.

My flock would run and hide in bushes where the hawks cant penetrate from air. They can actually see the hawks waaaay up in the sky or perching in the trees, then loud cackles and b-line into the bushes.

Two lessons for me today...
Found a cash of eggs behind a wheel barrel today while searching for an Orpington pullet that went missing last night... So yep, the cons of free ranging just bit me in the butt.
I wasn't missing the eggs because most of the girls are moulting... :/
