Starting up in NE CT

My 11yo son and I are starting our chicken adventure. Planning to build a 7'Wx7'Dx6'H walk-in coop with attached run and perhaps some free ranging. Planning to order ~10 laying chickens from Meyers for early May. Wish we could find some silkies to add to the brood ... maybe later. I've found this site to be a great resource!

Hatcheries, generally have the Silkies as well however, they are not the quality of breeder stock. You may want to check out the "Silkie thread." to see what they are really like.
