Newbie here, but enjoying the journey. Chicks are 2 and 1 weeks in the house brooder.
Spring is not working with us much as far as getting the coop and run area ready. It is where my water garden use to be, so filling in with bare dirt. Thought I would have time to plant and let there be "something" growing before the chicks could destroy
For now the plan is get the coop set and fenced in. Then will seed the area with annual rye, along with some swiss chard, parsley, and collard greens seeds covered with hay to mulch, before the chickens get the space. There is also a clump of pampas grass in the run that is staying, hope it makes it.
Any thoughts on what to add that might survive and grow really quick.
Thanks for any help.
