And wouldn't it be more merciful to put the animal out of its mercy? And would it be smarter and nicer to not dump your spents and problem animals on others who might not know? And for the animal sake its much more merciful then being released in the wild defenseless and being possible starved? Not saying I'll do that but other people would. And also to many birds end in cannibalism, I'll rather eat my bird then watch them eat each other.

They don't need to pay back! Give Gods creatures respect!  

God put them down on earth to provide for us, we do respect them till the day they day. I am thankful I know how they are raised in a loving environmentand not I broiler houses that have them jam pack together, that can't get bugs or fresh air and grass. A few times we HAD to kill the birds for their health sake, ir was more merciful then letting them live.

I did let him live for over a year, he had a happy life, but due to moving we had to pair down and couldn't spend the time trying to find good homes due to how we were force to move. I respect all of God's creature but there is a thin line between repsecting them and thinking they have souls. If we are to continue this arguement I suggest you PM me. I rather know my food.
