Sweetie looks like a male to me. is she grown up or still a pullet? if she's grown up, she's a hen. if she's a pullet, he's a guy. male silkies have really tiny crests and don't reach to their eyes.

I wouldn't call him a roo. I have a silkie that looked more boyish than that as a young bird and she ended up being a hen.
