I had a cochin, but he got a bit aggresive, I've had the same silkie rooster for years and he's great.

Yeah? Silkie roos can be mean sometimes. I've had BAD experiences with Ameraucana roos.....It really just depends on the individual personality of the rooster, although some breeds tend to be better than others.

It also depends on their breeding and what lines they hail from. Hatcheries don't breed for personality they breed to sale.

The problem with getting a rooster is I got him quiet, I know you can't stop their crowing but I need them to stay quiet till about 7 am. I heard that if you keep them in the coop it can keep them quiet but doesn't always work.
