... I am to post this once and I am going to leave.
If you read my other posts I have stated 'unless otherwise' meaning if they are a pet or I like them they live long happy lives, unlike some I don't have the access to a chicken rescue and some of the birds we had to kill we did it for our safety or because they were failing to thrive. I spent days nursing chicks, hand feeding them food and in the end having to put them down. I own horses, and I love them more then just mounts or cart pullers, but if push comes to shove for their well being I'll put them out of there misery.
I guess I am harsh, but at least I know realty, you can't save every animal out there, and some sadly should be removed from the gene pool. I honestly suggest you read my other last few posts, I own goats and see them more then just 'livestock' but if we can't sell the goat we will kill it then just let it be in the pasture not being used or having health problems. We are a small time farm that love and care for our animals and, but as I stated I rather know were our food comes from, and know they have been loved their whole time, and not in feed lots walking through their own manure or not being able to be on fresh green grass and have air.
We each have our own beliefs, and that what's makes up one of a kind... I sugest you please stop trying to make me feel guilty for being proud that I know what I know. Our family is not rich in money but we are rich in the healthy food we try to grow and raise, be it milk from our goats, chicken eggs from out birds or the farm fresh roasted chicken in the oven.
Miss heny of Fary Fart Farm.
