This afternoon, about 10 hawks were flying low to the ground ready to attack by the chicken coop. My roosters were completely calm. My boy named Oreo was looking at them, so luckily he was aware. Those hawks seemed so hungry, they would have just been so happy to take one of my feathered friends. I was outside for 30 minutes until the darn hawks finally left. I will never forgive this one hawk, who killed my favorite chicken last year. It is awful losing chickens, but you never ever, get over the loss of your favorite chicken. His name was Einstein. He was a Houdan cockerel. He was only about 3 months old when the hawk killed him. I cry just thinking about him. I am crying right now.. So I am no fan of hawks. Luckily they didn't get any of my feathered friends today! :) I hope they will never again take one of my chickens.

You can spot the same exact hawk? Why don't you just get rocks and when it comes back try and kill it.

No.. I can't, but if there is a hawk that lands on a fence by my coop, I know it's the one who killed my Einstein. I would never kill a hawk. I just want them to leave. Not to mention I think it is against the law to kill hawks in CA, at least I think it is..
or maybe just use the rocks to scare it away
I do that all the time. Sometimes I scare them off using sticks too. I also yell at them.
