I just checked on my chickens; Blue hasn't shown up yet. It's cold and misty outside and there is no sign of her. I doubt she is even on my property anymore. The closest neighbor was notified but they probably wont ever just run into her. At this point I don't think she'll ever come back.
Don't give up my saint bernard ran away last jan. After 4 weeks noone had seen him a 200lb dog we figured he followed the train tracks or fell in the creek. He showed back up very thin the day after my husband bought a new puppy for my kids..I went door to door I live in an old unincorparated town so there is only like 50 properties... called the police and the pound nothing and he doesn't jump anything even a short baby gate. .and I live where there are big packs of coyates. He came home thin but unharmed your hen could also.I just let me chickens free range. One strayed off from my roo (they all fallowed him and never went out of his sight). She got stuck inside a big sticker bush and was traumatized, but we got her out. Just as I got the chickens back into the coop, one strayed off into the woods. It's almost dark and I haven't found her yet.
