There was a site about computers, and they had a "fun" (not sure what it was called, but it was something to do with non-computer related things) section for the forums, like BYC has. There was a thread about movies that made you cry. Many of them said Hachiko brought a tear to their eyes. They were grown men (I think).

He sat on the same place each day, waiting for his dead owner to come back, then he joined his owner in heaven and there that dogs statue stands
