State a fact about yourself!

I go outside at night every once in a while, look at the stars, and think "we're still here...... floating in space". Still here...... all alone.

The vast realm of the cosmos is a daunting entity to grasp. I cannot escape the awe inspiring wonder at how the Earth, orbiting an average
insignificant star can support life. Many religions have theories to help their followers come to grasp with this unattainable thought.
As far as being alone, the jury is still out. We could be alone but when you think each galaxy consisting of 100 billion stars +
it is hard to not discount the possibility that the Drake Equation for calculating the existence of intelligent life on other worlds in not at least
possible. Not that I am professing to discount the possibility but, when I think about it I cannot help but wonder if we will one
day receive and decode a signal from another life form possibly way more advanced than we are.

But till then, I just gaze at the night sky and get lost in the expanse and think about how vast the cosmos are and how I am nothing
more than a speck of star dust in the logarhythmic scale of the Universe.

They have sent things off that will, in not that long, help find out if there is in fact life on other planets. The universe is about 15 billion years old and the earth is only about 5 billion years old. Plus, we evolved slow (too many years of just bacteria on this earth; it was a simpler time). Very good chance that somewhere there is life. But for now, until we know of their existence, does it really matter if there is other life? We are still alone.

It's not that hard for life to exist. Basically, you need a very simple life form. This life form needs to be imperfect: to not be able to reproduce exactly the same. Give it some time, and the cycle of evolving starts. Luckily, it got us to the point where we are aware of the universe, and ourselves. Thus, we can find other life forms. And play chess with them.

So, the chances of life existing depends of the chances of there being the right chemical reaction, the right amount of light, the right amount of food/water, and the right temperature. Very possible. Maybe we can interbreed it with our chickens, or maybe I just have absurd thoughts.
