Sternrose, I suggest you head for vet tech, there are over 20% to many vets right now. I asked my vet and he had stated its not worth the debt.

There are online classes to become a Vet tech.

Being a vet isn't just about helping animals. There's some parts about it that aren't pretty. And that's why I'm not going to become one.

Its only a single dollar pay difference at first, and as a vet tech you don't have to put down animals. And if you want to be a horse dentist (guilty here) you can move to a state that allows you to become that under another vet

Its not worth going into debt and spend 4 (or longer) years in collage when you can take a two years course online to become a vet tech?
