Well, I don't believe there is any place that sells them around here or a place where I can buy them.

I can have them shipped, but one of the only places that I can order a small batch of chickens is Meyer Hatchery, but they charge $50 for shipping.

Maybe sometime I will consider it, but right now I don't feel like paying that much for only a few chickens (there is also the cost of the chickens themselves, too).

Nope. Never slaughtered my own animals, but would like to (wouldn't mind hunting either, but AFAIK hunting is really restricted over here) - for me it's "this beautiful animal had to give its life so I can eat/keep warm (both of which are required for living) so I'll give it as quick a death as I can and use as much of the animal as I can."

I was looking for a female duck for my old magpie/ancona drake, but i couldn't afford a $50 one on craigslist. so, we searched for magpie ducks on "local harvest" and found a breeder and she says she has an old girl duck that she will give us FOR FREE!!!!

WE ARE PICKING UP THE DUCK TOMORROW MORNING!!!!! SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!

Nope. The animal never agreed to let you kill them. There is no necessary reason to kill an animal.

Animals are friends, NOT food, clothes, or things that provide things.

Awesome! I may be rescuing 2 ducks soon, they are from an animal hoarder.. Someone asked if we would consider taking them, and they are going to see if they can drive them down here. It is a probably 3 hour drive, so they are still thinking about it.
