@PeepersMama I totally agree! Kids are just so spoiled that they don't really have to put any effort into life. I know a lot of teenagers who are just jerks about everything, even to those to love them. I personally think "come on, guys! Your making it too easy for people to stereotype us teens, and I don't want to be seen as one of you!" They don't listen.

My parents raised me so that if I want to keep chickens, I buy them and feed them and take care of them every day. If I want a cow, I buy a cow and then pay my dad for using his hay. If I am ever disrespectful (God forbid) I will find myself without chickens, cows, and anything else that I earned with responsibility. I can't wait till I finish highschool and can get a job and work for a living. I guess I might be kind of a stereotypical ranch teen, but that is a lot different...

I'm in the same age group as the millennials.

Sure I play video games, use social media, and chill.
But I have built my own coop, raised chickens, and I'm thinking of improvements to please my ladies.
I have a job, and I'm going to college for Information Technology.

Most things I need or want, I buy my-self.
I am involved in my church, doing AV work.
And I have been asked to do mission work, internationally.

With similar, how do you say, thoughts/lifestyles. For awhile I wished Mom and Dad would pay me for taking care of the horses, but they don't, and I can live with that. Mom says my payment for taking care of them is getting to keep them. Thankfully they don't make me pay for the hay though

I do still wish that I got at least $20 when we sell one though!

I wish I could build my own coop, but hey, dad got all the stuff for free, and it's got a GARAGE DOOR pop-hole!!! Which he also got for free, BTW.
What kind of stuff do you do internationally? That sounds pretty cool

I don't raise horses, but we got two, sold one and the next day she died (which really stunk cuz I ws in AZ). Tried to sell the other one, but then dad brought home two more for free + a free trailer. Then we tried to get out of horses for ever (

), and when we were down to one, dad traded an old, rusty trailer for my neighbors psycho pony. Right now we still have two, but mom is still like, "Let's sell them and get cows!" I want a cow, too, but I also want my smiley cow and Mr. dusty butt

All this was spread out over, like, 5 years BTW

I don't get paid for chores either. The way most of the family looks at it as prep for real life. The only chores you get paid for once your out of the house is your job. THAT and mom sucks at getting us our money. She dreams up this amazing, perfect plan, and pays us for a week, and then she either doesn't have money in her pocket, or she forgets

Eventually we all stopped expecting money and just did them anyway.

heyhey, we're both on 2 threads at once!

And yeah, I'm homeschooled. Otherwise we wouldn't have horses at all, so YAY!
