I have read a lot of interesting comments, in this thread, on the subject of stay at home moms. Obviously if we are talking about a single mom she has to work and does work very hard for her children. Here is what it comes down to in my opinion.
The best environment for a child to be raised in is one with a loving father and a mother that stays at home. I was raised in this kind of home. Growing up my best friend and her brother were being raised in a home where both parents worked. They were no where near as happy and close to their parents as I was. I am and always will be an advocate for stay at home moms being the best thing for children.
As far as the comment of stay at home moms not really working, I find that to be very insulting to all the hard working stay at home moms. Spend a say in the life of a good stay at home mom, it is one of the most challenging and versatile jobs a person can undertake.
And the moms who take the bull by the horns and throw their heart and soul into being there for their children in all the ways they need, deserve our admiration not criticism.
