Well I couldn’t sleep Last Monday night so I was looking at some people’s pictures of their fresh eggs. I figured I need some too. I accidentally got carried away looking at the beautiful hens on all the hatchery websites…. I have thirty arriving tomorrow. 40 more by August and September…
I don’t even know why I got so many. I went nuts. So I been building a fence for a run. 200’x200’, then drug both my daughters into a spring break hen house buildathon. Got it done my daughters said I can hold grizzly bears in it.
Got two 6’ cow troughs with some heat lamps. I bought
15 Lavender Orpington Hens
2 Lavender Orpington Roosters
6 Buff Brama Hens
4 Dark Brama Hens
1 Buff Brama Rooster
4 Barred Rock Hens
1 Barred Rock Rooster
10 White Leghorn Hens
5 Olive egger Hens
4 Rhode Island Red Hens
4 Cuckoo Maran Hens
15 Cinnamon Somthing hens
I have this feeling when my wife gets home she’s gonna be elated beyond words.
Not cuz of the birds but cuz I made the hen house laying box accessible from the front porch.
It was my daughter’s idea.
Looking forward to this challenge.
And bringing the eggs to neighbors and folks from church.
My kids said we can lettem grow and share or sell hens to people who are lookin too.
