Steel wool pieces in oyster shell

We bought a fifty lb bag of manba pro at tractor supply and saw these little pieces of steel wool, so we bought a new bag of coastal shell at agway and found them again but so much less. Has anyone noticed this?

I've never found steel wool in bags of oyster shell but then, I've never bought 50 lb. bags either (maybe that doesn't matter).

It will be interesting to see if anyone else has had this issue.

Yes! I noticed several in my manna pro 50lb bag. I just pulled them out as I found them. I had a good 10-15 pieces at the bottom of my old bag. Haven’t opened the new one yet.

I buy mine from the local Co-op and nothing in the bag other than oyster shell.

Thanks for the warning. I recently bought my first 50 lb bag of oyster shells from TSC. I didn't look in the bag, just took a scoop of the shells out and filled their bowl. I'll have to take a good look at it tonight. I assume it's from cleaning the oyster shells, but you'd think they'd have a magnet or something to pick up the pieces that break off. As it gets bagged... maybe they figure b/c it's for animals it doesn't matter, but it matters to me.

I'd be calling the manufacturer or taking the OS back to the store. If customers accept crap, that is exactly what they are gonna pay for and continue to receive.

this has to be dangerous in some way with those shards - but I don't have the manna bag anymore - we open it and dump it into the metal sealed container, from now on I'll keep all the bags - but I will call Manna and Coastal

I’ve just reached the bottom of the bag in September but I bought it in about February. First I’ve noticed it. It came from a tsc
