Looks like Spring with young chickens and crocus-like blooms, but it is Sternbergia blooming in the foreground today and hardy perennial sunflower also blooming in gold shades - at the top of the photo on the left. The pair of Merganser decoys was carved and painted by Reggie Birch.

Just hoping more people might want to grow the Sternbergia bulbs as the results are beautiful year after year And the colonies of the plant also increase annually.

I will try them for sure , but i,m in USDA zone 2 ... 9 hours drive north of Montréal , pretty cold long winters here but we have lot of snow that protect fragile plants . I have to test their hardiness
