We have just gotten our first "country" eggs and they seem to stick to the shell worse than the "city" eggs we have been eating. Someone told me to add salt to the water when boiling but that did not help. The membrane under the shell is very tough and that is what actually sticks to the egg. Anyone have any solutions?

After you boil the eggs put them in a ice water bath asap and that will cause the egg to pull away from shell and not stick.
Lots of ice!
Works great!!

Refer to the thread hard boiled egg questions by tatersgirl. There have been several other threads on here with various answers. I told her my method and it worked for her as it has always worked for me. I think this always comes as a surprise to new chick owners, it certainly did to me. The problem is when they teach us to boil eggs they take it for granted we will be working with store eggs that are several weeks old.
WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF FRESH EGGS!
