I have had my chickens for almost one week. There is one chick that has poop stuck on her but a lot and I have tried to gently get it off with warm water and a soft sock. I have even sunk her bottom in some warm water to loosen it up. I noticed today however, that her but fuzz is stuck together and she looks almost bald back there. Her vent (I think that's what it's called) looks ok/clear, but it is the area around her bottom that worries me. Would it be okay for me to put antibiotic ointment on her? I have heard "sticky butt" can be really detrimental to a chick. I just want to do the right thing. Thank you!

It's called pasty butt. Have any oils, or petroleum jelly, or vaseline you can use to slicken the butt fluff?
